There are various sizes, we had 2 x 6 bed, comprising one double room, and two twin bedded rooms in each, and a 4 bed chalet with one double and one twin bedded room. All towels and\u00a0bedding is provided and beds made up, electricity payable through a meter (\u00a31 coins). Booking out of season is very reasonable. (we paid \u00a355 each for the week).\u00a0In a great location for walking or sight seeing.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a010\/10<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bala Bunk House, Tomen y Castell, Llanfor, Bala Gwynedd, LL23 7HD &#8211; January 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A converted 18th century building which can accommodate up to 26 people in the bunk house and two annexes. If full could be very crowded. Heated by calor gas heaters.\u00a0Kitchen and social area and toilets\u00a0on the ground floor, with the bedrooms above, accessed by a stone staircase on the outside of the building &#8211; a feature their web site\u00a0omitted to mention, these are uncovered and get slippery in winter, also not very convenient if you need the toilet during the night. This said the bunkhouse was well equipped and comfortable and in a good location. 5\/10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skirfare Bridge Barn, Kilnsey, Wharfdale, England.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><strong>November 2012.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Good location and accommodation for up to 20.\u00a0 Parking next to barn, bedrooms of various sizes and drying room downstairs and kitchen\/dinning room\/lounge upstairs.\u00a0 Warm and cosy.\u00a0 Kitchen a little small but no problem when group cooking and it was a tight fit getting 20 around the table.\u00a0 Just enough bathrooms\/toilets.\u00a0 Would certainly use this location again.\u00a0\u00a0 9\/10<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kinloch Castle, Isle of Rum, Scotland.\u00a0\u00a0 April\/May 2012.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We stayed here for a week and there is not much alternative on Rum.\u00a0 The castle was under extensive repair at the time and workmen were using the hostel facilities, which in any event were inadequate for the number of people using them.\u00a0 The bedrooms were spacious and there was a nice lounge called the Reading Room.\u00a0 Sadly the courtyard bar was closed and the kitchen, storage\u00a0and dining facilities were very limited.\u00a0 We had to negotiate with another group as we had to take it in turns to cook and sit down to eat.\u00a0 There were also too few bathrooms and you had to be alert otherwise you would miss your chance.\u00a0 There was the castle dining room but despite the shortcomings our group meals provided better food and much better value.\u00a0 Having said that we had a good week and I would use the bunkhouse again.\u00a0 6\/10<\/p>\n<p><strong>Culdees Bunkhouse, Loch Tay, Scotland\u00a0 February 2012.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From the outside it looks like it could do with a bit of a tidy up but it&#8217;s OK inside and there is a warm welcome.\u00a0 Four bunkbeds per room, kitchen a bit small and cluttered if the place is busy but the lounge is spacious and comfortable.\u00a0 Other parts of the accommodation are also open to guests.\u00a0 Plenty of parking nearby.\u00a0 The place grows on you.\u00a0 7\/10<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Loch Earn Log Cabins, Lockearnhead, Stirling FK19 8PU &#8211; February 2016 These cabins are holiday accommodation the site being run by Hoseasons Holidays and therefor very comfortable and well equipped.
